Description:
This training will provide attendees with a basic understanding of nonprofit financial reports and help them have the ability to review these reports with confidence. Board members, directors, managers, and even new finance directors will benefit from learning how to read, interpret and apply information found on three main nonprofit financial reports – the Balance Sheet, the Statement of Cash flows, and the Profit and Loss Statement. Attendees will also learn how to use financial reports to assist in making sound fiscal decisions as well as identifying possible “red flags” for their organization.
Objectives:
1. Participants will gain a basic understanding of nonprofit financials in order to review them with confidence.
2. Participants will learn some of the accounting terminology used in nonprofits.
3. Participants will be able to articulate how nonprofit financial reports inform sound fiscal decisions.
4. Participants will learn how to identify “red flags” within your financial reports.
