This is the fourth topic in a webinar series that runs from October 2018 - August 2019.

This is the fourth webinar in MCEDSV’s non-profit management series. This training offers an opportunity to gain a strong foundation in the basics of labor law as it applies to running a shelter or anti-violence organization, without ever leaving your desk!

Audience: 
Upper management and finance directors who are responsible for compliance with labor law.

Objectives
In this training, participants will:

1. Learn the difference between exempt and non-exempt employees

2. Understand the law regarding overtime.

3. Defining “hours worked”

4. Learn how to determine if a worker should be categorized at staff or a contractor.

 While this specialty series is geared toward Executive and Director level staff, there will be takeaways for anyone in leadership or upper management position in the non-profit sector relating to the issues of domestic and sexual violence and social justice. Experiencing the full webinar series as a whole is strongly encouraged. Most 90-minute webinars are held on Thursdays and begin at 1:30 pm EST via Zoom. Each webinar requires separate registration.
